Abstract

The United States history of African American people reveals a struggle for fair citizenship and equality. The Library of Congress has hundreds of articles related to the topic of racial inequality of the Black soldiers. The articles concludes that, the struggle was no different for African American's who served abroad in the military during World War 1 than those living in urban cities. The soldiers of color during this time fought for their country while they remained segregated and endured discriminative practices. The segregation in the urban cities were because of the "Jim Crow" rules. Therefore, the soldiers returned home to racial problems.
