Abstract
This paper outlines the basic principles of the Islamic Political System, including: the Islamic Belief system, definition of a Muslim, the Islamic ideology, the concept of an Islamic Republic, ultimate goal of the Islamic Republic, social contract and the Divine covenant, liberty and freedom, secularism and freedom of religion, freedom of expression, individual liberty and state intervention, justice and equality, sovereignty and authority, the principle of limited government, public participation in the government, women participation in the government, interpretation of the Islamic law, judicial precedents of the Prophet, nationality and citizenship, sects and parties, criteria of the people in authority, the electorate and the electoral process, accountability of the people in authority, limits to obedience of the people in authority, the church/masjid and the state, immutability of Islamic laws, the socio-economic order, the Islamic union, the United Nations, and bringing change.
