Abstract

This is an introduction to the book "International Economic Law. Voices of Africa".

This book has three aims. First, it is to project African voices on international economic law (IEL) , an area of law that profoundly affects Africa (and indeed every nation on the globe), but the development which has been dominated by developed countries, mainly Western European and North American countries. Secondly, it is to serve as a source, however modest, of information and understanding of IEL for stakeholders (Africans or non-Africans) on, and for, the continent. Thirdly, it aims to foster better African use of IEL for the continent’s development and to the benefit of its peoples.
