Abstract

Most schools wisely choose to become incorporated bodies. Why do they do it? There are a number of reasons. Firstly, incorporation gives school management personnel legal protection, as the school entity itself generally takes on any liabilities rather than the school council members or staff. Secondly, incorporation requires that the school has in place a range of rules and protocols that ensure the smooth operation of the school. That helps to keep things from getting out of hand.
