Abstract

Brazil has a longstanding history of social responsibility, however corporate law has just recently evolved in tackling the issue. This paper aims at situating the student within the legal framework that serves corporate social responsibility in recent times. A detailed examination of CSR within the financial sector is also provided, giving the reader a chance to grasp how the local market evolved and embraced a concept which was relegated to social assistance in that part of the world.
