Abstract

The paper is the result of considering the spreadsheet history and also of some tests done while using many stand-alone and on-line applications and environments: spreadsheets, portals, analytical dedicated applications, tutorials and so on. The exportation options to a spreadsheet available in many current applications in order to ensure the relation to a intuitive reporting environment is the best proof of utility to so many users that not just know it and use it but can include it in further developments. The latest trends that makes the spreadsheets even more required are associated first of all to the mobile technology growth – both hardware and applications and secondly to their complexity, considering them even DSS generators.

Keywords: spreadsheets, decision making, representations
