Abstract
Abatement of suicide is a penal offence in India. After the Supreme Court's decision in Aruna Shanbaug (2011) case, voluntary passive euthanasia is applicable in certain cases. This article is analyzing the relevancy of legalizing the active euthanasia over the application of passive euthanasia on the basis of J. S. Mill's concept of Liberty.
