Abstract

The main purpose of this paper is to set the basic coordinates for the concept of school mediation, pointing out different types of conflicts emerging at School level, and also different phases of conflict development that allow a mediation procedure.

Equally, for a comparative perspective, the Romanian and French model of School Mediator will be presented, each with its own particularities and its own attributes, and also a brief presentation of the peer-mediation system will be made.

In the final part, some preliminary conclusions of each model will be pointed out, leading to a general conclusion regarding the need for mediation not only in present school conflicts, but also in the development of future generations.

Keywords: school mediation, peer-mediation, educational disputes, school conflicts.
