Abstract

I examined the increase of symposium issues and offered some theories on what that rise means. I also explored who publishes in these issues, what they are about, and whether they are qualitatively stronger or weaker than regular or mixed issues in these same reviews. I also discovered that certain writers tend to appear together, particularly in symposia in the top reviews, and that women and minorities were generally poorly represented.
