Abstract

The purpose of this chapter is to consider how criminological interest in migration and crime has been taken up by critical scholars within an emerging part of the discipline known as ‘the criminology of mobility.’ Drawing together theoretical and empirical accounts, authors in this subfield focus on the non-citizen and the global governance of and through migration control. The control of mobility, in this view, has become not just an adjunct to crime control, but intertwined with it.

Keywords: Criminology of mobility, migration, crimmigration, citizenship, gender, borders
