Abstract
Case study method is an important tool in management education. While dealing with various theories, one fails to realize the limitations of the theories in practice. A case study based on a practical situation helps in this regard. It has two objectives viz., to identify problems in practice and secondly developing decision making skills to the practical problems. Therefore a case study analysis is complete only if the actual decision taken in practice were also presented.
The Quality India Ltd. went through a bad industrial relations situation for a long period. Changing external environment made the management realize that a motivated and committed workforce is an asset to the company and it can deliver the product with good quality and right price. How to motivate workers -- is the problem faced by the management. This case mainly discusses the various motivational techniques used by the management in practice.
