Abstract

When a family requires economic support for survival, government services are available to provide family assistance programs. These programs give parents the economic ability to provide for their children in ways that their current occupational or situational conditions do not allow. Their goal -- as well as the goal of any other government assistance program -- is to provide a stepping stone from which families can amass enough wealth to provide for themselves. In this way, America sets the tone that families -- parents and children -- deserve economic support when they're unable to provide for themselves.
