Abstract
Calcium cadmium tartrate crystals were synthesized by mixing calcium ion with cadmium into sodium meta silicate gel with tartrate acid at room temperature. Calcium cadmium tartrate crystals were formed by controlled diffusion. In the present study, the grown crystals were confirmed by x-ray diffraction and Infrared spectroscopy. Photoluminescence spectrum shows ultra violet, violet and blue emissions. The energy dispersive analysis by x-rays (EDAX) proved the incorporation of calcium in cadmium tartrate. The results of these observations are described and discussed in detail.
