Abstract

In the last years, the labor market from Romania was affected by significant changes. The economic recovery and the Romanian workers migration towards wealthier countries led to a significant decrease of the unemployment. Moreover, some sectors of the national economy confront problems given by the insufficient labor force. Among the solutions taken into consideration for the labor force deficit is the encouragement of the educated people from Republic of Moldova inflows. This paper explores the aspects that could motivate citizens from the Republic of Moldova to look for jobs in Romania after they graduated university studies. Based on an investigation among citizens from the Republic of Moldova that are students in Romania, we approach the main elements of their evaluation of jobs’ utility. We found out they would prefer to be employed in Romania although they considered that getting a suitable job for their studies is much easier in the Republic of Moldova.
