Abstract

This paper analyzes Dirty Pretty Things (2005), a film directed by Stephen Frears and written by Steven Knight. It examines how the film stages the struggles of immigrant workers for a better life in the global city of London and performs a subtle critique of the dirt of service-collar work in 21st century capitalism.
