Abstract

The article tracks the evolution of the Kyoto Protocol through a critical stage in its evolution, its entry into force in 2005, and provides a first hand account of the results of the first meeting of the parties to the Kyoto Protocol. This meeting was critical to the future of the UN Climate Regime, because of the role it played in initiating the negotiations toward a future climate regime that are currently set to conclude in 2015 in Paris.

Keywords: climate change, international law, Kyoto Protocol, UNFCCC
