Abstract
This is an essay imagining a future dystopia that combines ideas of personal currencies, software, smart cities and various relics and artifacts of pop-geek culture. It tracks the downfall of a "personal currency" and along the way highlights how current trends within data gathering, algorithmic and software sorting, classification of credit risk, social media reach, etc., could result in a situation in which current systems of centralized banking and state-back currencies could (d)evolve into a dynamic quantification of everyone's financial value.
