Abstract

Electronic retailing arrived silently in India but currently it is growing by 70% CAGR while the brick & mortar retailing is struggling at 20% CAGR. The researcher studied consumers’ Internet usage pattern, their profile and their shopping pattern through his illustrious study on e-retailing. Purpose to write this paper is to clear ambiguities regarding information about the sector as per the available secondary data. The methodology used is a critical review of secondary data published by various research firms. Youth are spearheading into this latest revolution. The internet consumption is growing day by day. The smart phone is playing crucial role in increasing the internet consumption. Consumer electronics is having largest share in e-retailing. Approximately two third consumers prefer to buy though CoD (Cash on Delivery). Metamorphosis of Indian consumers is being taking place from buyers to e-buyers.
