Abstract
Energy conservation today has taken a back seat in view of the recent breakdown & interruption n supply, which enlivens sustainability issues. This work relooks at the essentialities of modern buildings in terms of four dimensions viz design, energy conservation, sustainability and human comfort (in terms of environment/ ambience).
Arguing that the use of insulation is not effective, use of hollow bricks has been recommended and explored in terms of its freedom from mold and bacteria, humidity, and moisture. However optimisation of strategy and practices of construction are considered important, and subjects of much deeper consideration.
