French Abstract: Le peuplement de la Chine se ramène toujours à l’opposition entre la Chine du « plein », à forte densité de population, dans le Sud-Est et la Chine du « vide » dans le Nord-Ouest. Toutefois, à l’échelle des trente et une entités administratives du pays, la géographie de la population a considérablement évolué en fonction des choix politiques successifs du gouvernement en matière de migrations internes. Le fait qu’un Chinois sur cinq soit aujourd’hui un immigrant interne se traduit par de nombreuses conséquences sociales et une accentuation des inégalités territoriales.

English Abstract: China's population always comes down to the opposition between China "full" of high population density in the South East and China's "vacuum" in the North West. However, at the scale of thirty one administrative entities, the geography of the population has changed significantly in terms of successive political choices of the government in terms of internal migration. The fact that China is now a five-migrant results in many social consequences and an accentuation of regional inequalities.
