Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to explore the stages involved in acquiring a second language. A comparison between the first and second language acquisition will be discussed in understanding the stages of second language acquisition. Furthermore, this paper will look into the differences of how each individual learn a second language. There are many major areas of individual differences in second language acquisition and this paper will provide a general overview of three of the many areas.
