Abstract
Kissinger’s role in resolving the Middle East crisis should never be evaluated singly. Although a multiplicity of factors strategically positioned Kissinger for his role during the Middle East crisis, Anwar Sadat’s concessions, genuineness, daring decisions and openness to peace propelled Kissinger’s tact to the success that it achieved. Kissinger's ability to exude a dual negotiation, while maintaining a feeling of concern from the American government allowed him to bridge the gap between Egypt and Israel. But while Israel was unbending, Egypt was more accommodating. A mix of personalities quelled the crisis.
