Abstract

This article details the life of the Honorable Frederick Watts, 1801-1889. A true “Renaissance Man,” Watts was an attorney, judge, reporter, businessman, President of the Cumberland Valley Railroad, gentleman farmer, Commissioner of the United States Department of Agriculture, and “Father” of the Pennsylvania State University.
