La Théorie Sensorielle : une archéologie de la perception sensorielle (Sensorial Theory: Archaeology of Sensory Perception)

Abstract

French abstract: Cet article a pour objet de présenter succintement La Théorie Sensorielle, qui met en relation des savoirs jusqu'alors fragmentés et compartimentés en diverses disciplines. Ces travaux, réalisés avec la contribution de biologistes, de neurologues et de médecins spécialistes du CNRS et de l’INSERM, mais aussi d’archéologues et d’historiens de renommée nationale et internationale, ont fait l’objet d’un ouvrage, publié en 2013, intitulé La Théorie Sensorielle. I Les Analogies Sensorielles, dans lequel les auteurs proposent un modèle synthétisant les mécanismes qui pourraient être à l’origine des inventions.

English abstract: The purpose of this article is to briefly present La Théorie Sensorielle (Sensorial Theory), which connects knowledge that has been fragmented and compartmentalised in various disciplines. The results of these endeavours - carried out with the collaboration of biologists, neurologists and medical specialists at the CNRS and the INSERM and also with nationally- and internationally-renowned archaeologists and historians - were published in a book entitled La Théorie Sensorielle. I - Les Analogies Sensorielles (2013), in which the authors formulate a model that synthesizes the mechanisms which could be the source of the inventions.
