Abstract

English Abstract: Comparative linguistics - one of the few scientific disciplines, whose methodology allows you to reconstruct information about languages and peoples preliterate period, which in turn sheds light on the genesis of the "classical" civilizations of the traditional type. Its primary task is the nomination and testing hypotheses, "distantly related" languages, establishing the ancient linguistic ties between the ancestors we know the written and unwritten cultures of East and West.

One of the main hypotheses of this kind is the theory of genetic kinship Sino-Tibetan languages (including Chinese), and the Yenisei North Caucasian language families, launched in the 1980s. SA Starostin, and continues to be actively developed in the framework of t. N. Moscow School of Comparative Studies. The present paper briefly summarizes the previous achievements in the field of domestic and foreign scientists, contains recommendations for further research into this controversial but highly promising area in which progress, in particular, has allowed to shed light on the origin and formation of Chinese civilization, as well as a number of controversial issues in the history of the settlement of the New World.
