Abstract

This study examined the influence readiness for change has on the success of IT projects and resulting organisational changes. Findings from a survey of IT projects of European steel producers (n=137) indicated a significant influence of readiness for change on the perception/acceptance of new IT solutions and employee commitment to related organisational changes whereas both contributed to the perception of overall project success. The findings of this study present statistical evidence for the positive contribution of organisational change practices in an early project phase for the successful realisation of IT projects from the perspective of organisational change and from the perspective of IT acceptance.
