Abstract
The paper discusses the four different types of long-distance railway employees referred to in the text of the Sherlock Holmes Canon, as well as the illustrations of such employees by Sidney Paget. It also discusses the uniform said in the text to be worn by one of those employees, as well as discussing various other aspects of the clothing referred to in the Canon.
