Abstract

This article focuses on environmental regulation by states in the U.S. while discussing topics such as cooperative federalism in environmental regulation by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), state implementation of the Clean Water Act, national ambient air quality standards (NAAQS) revised under the Clean Air Act, the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) being applied to states, the reduction of copper use by California and Washington and partnerships between states to mitigate environmental problems.
