Abstract

Currently, the EU is holding discussions on the exploitation of drones for civil purposes. The debate is motivated by the alleged potential for economic growth and the need to establish a harmonised legal framework at EU level. US and Israel are already leading the industry and Europe cannot lag behind, which provides the main motivation behind the EU discourse on drones. This debate is led by industry representatives, 5 and aims at moving the Commission, the Council and the Member States.
