Abstract

Having solved most vital problems concerning the need for new approaches to teaching and learning (student-centered, competency-based), researches and educators in Europe and beyond took a more detailed approach to vocational training and started considering a professional of a new type – made to order, basing on the employers’ requirements. This approach can emasculate the idea of professionals turning them into ‘universal soldiers.’ To avoid this, the authors offer the concept of professional personality developed to meet employers’ needs with the keyword “personality” in mind.

Keywords: personality, professional, tourism industry, professional personality model, lifelong learning, continuous education and professional improvement
