Abstract
This paper is an attempt to examine science and technology education as instruments for national development and the implications it holds for sustained ethics of science and technology as well as teaching profession. Re- emphasizing on ethics of teaching profession is a welcome development but science and technology educators seems to be thrown into confusion because they must combine their professional ethics with the ethics of science and technology, which at the fullness of its implementation often conflicts amidst cultural pluralism and diverse religious beliefs and practices. Thus in the midst of choosing to advance in knowledge through research for instance, he may be in trouble with the society because of the hazards his findings or products may bring upon the people or because it conflicts with the beliefs and practices of the people. To allay the huge fear expressed about sustainability in their adherence to these ethics, this paper made some concrete suggestions that could assist in ensuring that science and technology educators constantly forge ahead and, as usual development is ensured too.
