Abstract

The study was an attempt to determine the possible influence of school location and type on the physics achievement of senior secondary school students in Kogi State. It was a pre-test, post test no control group quasi experimental design. A sample of 524 students drawn from the six education zones in the state were used for the study. The major instrument used was Physics Achievement Test (PAT) which was face validated and as well trial tested. Its reliability coefficient was found to be 0.83. Data were collected and analyzed and the result showed that there are no significant difference in the physics achievement of single sex school students and co-educational school students. Similarly, there was no significant difference in physics achievement of senior secondary school students located in urban and rural areas. Educational implications of these findings were highlighted.
