Abstract

This contribution to a collection dedicated to Rod Macdonald is a reflection on time and commitment in light of thinking about one man’s contribution to law. Van Praagh focuses on the stuff of the everyday to rediscover the insights into the practices and meanings of law that come from all of the things that require so much time, from teaching to university administration, conference participation and solitary thinking. This piece reaffirms the need to pay attention to all that happens between the awards and the marked moments.
