Abstract

Based on a textual analysis of the new constitution, as well as a short review of relevant commentaries, the author provides a critical overview of biases and preferences within the phrasing of the Hungarian Fundamental Law. The essay unfolds possible interpretations and normative definitions for how the constitution envisages (ideal) members of the political community.
