Abstract

Islamic injunctions are contained in the Holy Qur’an and Sunnah. The record of the words, actions and tacit approvals of the Messenger of Allah (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہٖ وسلم) is contained in the storage of Ahadith. The experts have developed the science of Hadith to know the most authentic of them and for this purpose among many terms one term is called al-Mudallas, i.e., a narration in which tadlis (concealment of defect) has occurred). The narrator who is guilty of misconduct of tadlis/تدلیس is called Mudallis. This paper is an attempt to examine this subject from all possible angles for the convenience of the research scholars.
