Abstract

A Venetian sailor of the fifteenth century, Bartolomeo Da Li Sonetti, composed an Isolario, that is, a Book of Islands, containing sonnets and charts of the Aegean Islands. Here we propose a discussion of it and of its historical context. Comparison between some maps of Isolario and Google Earth images is also given.
