Abstract
The theoretical bases of interaction between foreign trade and innovation, beginning from the classic theory of international trade to new modern trade theory are studied in the work. The experimental studies conducted in recent years by the OECD confirmed the theoretical statements, developing them, and they are also analyzed.
The practical part of study is focused on the determination of impact of trade facilitation on speed of innovation activity as well on the establishment of country’s specialization in the medium and high-tech exports.
The novelty of the research is that for the first time the possible effects of external trade on the innovational development of Republic of Moldova are studied. For the first time as well with reference to the Republic of Moldova a multidimensional analysis that allow to estimate the influence of export and import flows on the elements of innovational development and to establish directions and best ways in which it can be done, using the WEB simulation tools of International institutions. The research shows that high-tech exports are concentrated on the medicinal and pharmaceutical products as well as the electrical machinery and its parts. For Moldova the import of technologies has a significant contribution for the development and diversification of export potential of country. The results of study can be used in the process of implementation of Foreign Trade Agreement with EU by decision makers and private sector.
