Abstract

This paper proposes a new bisection method based Perturb and Observe (P&O) Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) algorithm for PV arrays. The proposed MPPT method, detects the voltage of the PV module, calculates the PV power, and adjusts the perturbation step size based on slope of PV curve to reach the maximum power point of photovoltaic (PV) module. An interleaved isolated converter based PV generation system is developed for implementing the proposed MPPT algorithm. The overall PV generation system is designed and modeled using MATLAB/SIMULINK software. The simulation results show the reduction of the power oscillation around MPP and the effectiveness of proposed algorithm for PV generation System.
