Abstract
In a famous article, Judith Thomson argued that privacy rights are really property rights in disguise. This article takes issue with this claim, and shows why talk of a right to privacy isn't always just a confused or confusing way of talking about our interests in property or in liberty. It then draws out the significance of these claims for people's interests in collective, as well as private, property and their relevance to Rawls' idea of a 'property-owning democracy'.
