Abstract

English Abstract: In this article, the author addresses the influence that foreign sources of law have on the interpretation of Quebec civil law. The author expresses a desire to do away with unjustified negativity regarding the influence of the common law when interpreting Quebec private law. For the author, the two legal systems have different areas of interaction in Quebec. One such area of interaction is found at the intersection between private law and public law. Finally, the two legal systems meet at the very heart of private law in Quebec, which borrows heavily from the British legal tradition.
