Book of Pitches: UQAPS 2015 Pitching Research Competition Final

As a companion to Faff (2015, 2016, 2017); Faff, Godfrey and Teng (2016); Nguyen, et al. (2017); Salehudin (2017); Teng and Faff (2017) (amongst others); the current paper documents the pitches presented by 7 finalists of a “pitching research” competition held in November 2015. Based on Faff’s (2015, 2017) “pitching research” template tool, the competition was held at The University of Queensland, and co-sponsored by the UQ Association of Postgraduate Students (UQAPS) the UQ Business School. The UQAPS event was truly comprehensive – capturing the full spectrum of academic discipline areas in a comprehensive university setting: tourism; mining engineering; sociology; education; public health; virology and food science. As such, this paper not only commemorates the 2015 event, but serves as a useful guiding resource for any novice researchers embarking on a new journey in one of these broad areas of scholarly endeavor.
