Abstract

Virtually everything that is held as major conventional wisdom regarding the infamous bailout packages received by Greece is not true. Hard cold data dictates that the truth has been distorted, misreported, and blatantly hidden from view. The nature and requisiteness and effects of the rescue loans granted by the Eurozone and the IMF since 2010 (€250 billion lent out so far) are so much dissimilar to what we have been bombarded with from global media outlets, politicians, and observers. Perhaps never before would such a relevant episode have been so heavily misrepresented.

Keywords: Greek debt, Greek bailouts, Troika
