With it unfinished agenda on land reforms, the country faces the challenge to adopt corporatization in true sense. The present paper seeks to investigate the issue from a legal standpoint. The paper proceeds with discussing the land reforms, especially the problem of small and marginal holdings and wastelands; runs through the concepts of contract farming and corporate farming, analyzes the existing corporate models of agriculture like cooperatives and producer companies, as well as points out the issues associated with them. A special emphasis is laid on Uttar Pradesh. The paper provides with a model to actualize „gentleman-farmer‟ revolution.
