Abstract

The new paradigm is to balance growth between males and females and bridge any gap that may exist. The most important way to bridge the gap is through gender budgeting and other initiatives. This paper goes into the details of the composition, gender budget statement, initiatives taken by various plans, budgetary allocation vocational training programs, work participation, political entity and also National Family Health Survey (NFHS). This paper concludes that if the same methodology is followed in government sectors, then what appears big and insurmountable may not be so. Also, it is important to keep a global perspective in a flat, interconnected world, as Indian women constitute a sizable measure of the world’s female population.
