Need of Awareness of HIV / AIDS Among the Indian Youth

Abstract

The present paper deals with the general introduction of HIV/AIDS, its historical aspects, modes of infection, prevention, and socio-psychological problems among the Indian youth. Besides that the present paper also the need of imparting AIDS-related awareness among the youth through Sex Education in order to prevent the rapid spread of AIDS/HIV infection and the steps were taken by the Government of India and other NGO’s for spreading awareness of AIDS/HIV infection and related disease to prevent the further spread of this dreaded disease among the risk group population. The role of NGOs and NSS for mobilising the college or university students for preventing this dreaded disease has also been elaborated in brief.
