Abstract

This report describes good practices and challenges relating to human rights and the environment in Madagascar, on the basis of a visit by the Special Rapporteur from 25 to 31 October 2016. Among other issues, the report addresses climate change, mining conflicts, illegal logging and trafficking, and threats to environmental human rights defenders. The report makes specific recommendations in each of these respects.
