Abstract

In his article "Liberty and Property Rights", Guido Pincione tries to prove that any restriction to ownership rights is incompatible with certain assumptions that any liberal (at least, any deontological liberal) is bound to accept.

If this attempt were successful, it would be certainly a decisive contribution to the libertarian position, because it would prove a conceptual necessary connection between liberalism and irrestrictive property rights. My purpose in this paper is, however, to make some critiques which, in my opinion, will show the essential weakness of the argumentation presented by the author.
