Abstract

Although much has changed over the past thirty years for LGBT people, I am still surprised at how much law students and lawyers struggle with deciding whether to come out. The mere perception that these individuals might appear to be LGBT is enough to make them hesitate, especially in a tough job market. I remain optimistic that future law students and lawyers will view their real or perceived sexual orientation as a positive rather than a negative in their professional lives.
