Abstract

From detailed examination of the history of when English law recognised an obligation to account this book develops a principled basis on which the modern law can continue to recognise certain obligations to account. The obligation to account can arise regardless of whether there is a cause of action for a wrong, whether that wrong be in tort, contract, or equity’s exclusive jurisdiction.
