Cinema Activities and Preferences of Russian Gamers: Experience of Sociological Research

Abstract
Our investigation is devoted to the problem of place of cinema activities and preferences of Russian gamers. This investigation is based on the scheme: ‘’genre of films – perception – new opinion - new system of preferences’’. We made the analysis of efficiency of this scheme using methods of semi-structured interview. The total of 70 students were chosen via snowball method of sampling. The results of the research show that all Russian gamers go to the cinema at least once a year. 21% of gamers watch at least 12 films a year at the cinema, and 83% watch from two to 11 films a year. The results showed that the genres of games preferred by gamers influence on the choice of films. 63% Fans of action games prefer to watch the action films. 51% of fans of role-playing games prefer the sci-fi movies. 67% fans of mobile games prefer comedy. 37% of fans of war games like to watch horror film. We made the conclusion that cinema activities and preferences is connected with preferences in the playing computer video games.
